aushie Adiseshan, founder of Pink Elf,
which creates contemporary
women’s apparel and accessories, is hoping to be the next face in fashion
around the globe. In addition to sporting her threads at the famous
Lakme Fashion Week in India, she sent models to strut her stuff at this month’s
San Francisco Fashion Week.
Setting the tone for her Bay Area show, she selected up-beat sexy songs like
Fergie’s “Glamorous” and Shakira’s “Hips Don’t Lie” to
best highlight her specialoccasion
designer clothing. From Greek-styled tunics to pajama-like dresses and
brightly colored wraps, Adiseshan maintains some level of traditional styling
with an avant-garde edge.
“The Spring/Summer 2008 collection is inspired by cinema’s leading ladies
from two different eras and two different continents: Hollywood’s film noir and
Bollywood blockbusters,” explains Palo Alto, Calif. Resident Adiseshan to indianlifeandstyle.
com.
“The collection effortlessly combines the languid elegance of noir femme fatales
with the energy and vitality of Bollywood dance numbers.”
Although she’s just starting her climb to fame, this talented young designer
has already been featured in The Daily Telegraph, Wall Street Journal, Asian Age,
Where magazine and the Times of India. With a degree in both fashion design and
business, she is poised to be the next big thing in fashion. With the motto, “Easy
glamour. Looking fabulous shouldn’t be hard work,” Adiseshan’s clients are feeling
good, looking good and helping put this fashion maven on the designer map.
